The Manufacturing Industry strives towards autonomous factories, whilst knowing that already “smart“ is a vision. When defining steps for improving the level of Manufacturing automation, many companies get lost when prioritizing, structuring and managing complexity of production use cases and the variety of different aspects. Based on an actual, recent customer project the utilized Smart Factory Navigator methodology will be explained which bases on real-life best practices and provides a good structure to drive the way from a Smart to an Autonomous Factory.
